Rainwater Harvesting System

A rainwater harvesting system is a setup designed to collect , store and use rainwater that falls on the rooftops or on the other surfaces. These systems typically include several components:

  1. Catchment surface: The area where the rainwater is collected. It can be a roof of a building, a paved surface or any other impermeable surface.
  2. Gutters and Downspouts: Gutters are installed along the edges of the roof to collect rainwater and direct it towards downspouts. Downspouts are the vertical pipes that carry the rainwater from gutters to storage systems.
  3. Filters: Filters removes the dust and debris that comes along with the rainwater from the rooftop area it can be installed at the end of the downspouts.
  4. Storage systems: Rainwater can be stored in various methods such as barrels, drums and tanks. The storage system must have a secured lid to prevent from contamination and breeding of the mosquitoes.
